With over 150 in attendance at the Fundraiser Event, it was nothing less than a fun-filled successful day for all! There were over 40 prizes raffled off plus a Grand Prize Get-Away Weekend (valued $750) and a Bonus iPad Prize that all went to many lucky winners! The 50/50 yielded $750 to a very happy winner as well. Prizes are donated by local business and supporters of the Foundation. We thank them all!
Earlier in the day 30 friends and supporters of the Foundation ran the Spartan Citi Field Obstacle Course Race and raised a total of $2,400! The race was a challenge, but that is what recovery is... a challenge. So, the Racers show their support by getting out of their comfort zones and pushing themselves to achieve a new personal accomplishment! The finish line was a triumphant crossing for all!
At the Fundraiser, a delicious spread of hot and cold food was donated by local and area restaurants that have been faithful supporters of the Daniel Copersino Foundation: S & D Caterers, Bronx; Russos on the Bay, Howard Beach and from Whitestone, Cascarinos, Freddy's Pizzeria, Sergimmo Salumeria!
Guest speakers consisted of two Foundation grant recipients who shared their stories of recovery and how the Daniel Copersino Foundation helped them along the way to their current productive sober lives. The special guest speakers were our Platinum Sponsors Mike Madden from Guardian Network and Phil O'Hara of Legacy Healing Center, both who generously each donated a "scholarship" for a 30-day rehab program for someone who comes to us in need. Amazing!
It was a very successful day! This Annual Fundraiser allows us to continue our work in helping those who what to change their lives for the better. Thank you for helping us to help others!
